Ardia Faye Bingham died July 9, 2016 in Purcell at the age of 82 years 8 months 7 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Faye was born in Lexington, Oklahoma on November 22, 1933, but due to an error, her birth certificate says, November 2, 1933. She was raised and attended school in Washington, graduating around 1951. On June 8, 1952, she married Mr. L.C. Bingham, and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Faye was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and needle work. Faye would embroidery baby quilts, pillow cases and scarfs, and has for many years until recently. She was deathly scared of water, but due to her health, Faye overcame her fear 20 years ago and fell in love with water aerobics. She met lots of long term friends during her class. Faye loved teaching bible class to 4 and 5 year olds, and was in charge of the fellowship dinner ministry for many years. She loved to travel, especially to Mountain View, Arkansas, as well as spending time with her sister, Betty. Faye loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, where she spent lots of time with family, and allowed herself to eat the things she couldn’t have the other 364 days of the year. Faye was famous for her snicker doodle cookies, which most of her family would hide from each other so they didn’t have to share. Everyday after lunch, Faye and L.C would play cards, and for over 25 years, at 7:00 PM, they played scrabble. Faye was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, William Oscar and Susie Mae (Johnson) Bounds; siblings, Ernest, Roy, Ray, Georgia, Jessie, Cliffie, Beatrice, O.J., Billy, David, and Betty.
