Bonnie Rae Tyree died February 7, 2021 at her home east of Lexington, at the age of 79 Years 9 Months 20 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Bonnie was born April 18, 1941 in Arnett, Oklahoma to Recil Kelly and Mary Elmina (Raff) Dobbs. On February 3, 1957, Bonnie was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Tahoka, Texas by Brother Edsel Thomas. On January 1, 1962, Bonnie married Richard Tyree in Hobbs, New Mexico and together they spent 58 wonderful years together, until Richards passing in October of 2020. They moved to Tulare, California later in 1962, where Richard built dairy barns for 32 years, and Bonnie worked as secretary and bookkeeper for their family business. Bonnie was a woman of many talents. She always had huge gardens, and loved canning, reading, and studying God’s word. She was a chaste keeper of the home, and was an expert seamstress and talented cross-stitcher. Bonnie was witty with a great sense of humor. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her sister, Lawania. They loved and adored each other dearly. She worked in her gift as a midwife and with God’s help, delivered numerous babies. She was a mother to many. Richard and Bonnie built their home to host company, and was very hospitable. She showed love and compassion to everyone she knew, and would always try to steer you in the right direction and never avoided the truth. During her life, Bonnie has done many things, anything she put her mind to, she accomplished.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Recil and Mary Dobbs; her husband, Richard Tyree; her siblings, Dwain Dobbs and Joye Dobbs. Survivors include her son, David Tyree of Taloga, OK; her daughter, Sandra Bond and husband, Chris of Wanette, OK; her grandchildren, Amanda and husband, Wally, Amelia, CeCelia, Kayla and husband, Clay, Garrick and wife, Keturah, Dravin and wife, Chelsey, Kearstin and husband, Craig; her 12 and counting great grandchildren; her sister, Lawania Witman; and numerous other relatives and friends.
