Comiletta "Ludy" Brooks

Comiletta “Ludy” Brooks died July 15, 2022, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years 6 months 18 days.  Memorial services are scheduled for11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2022, at the Asher Church of Christ, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Ludy, the middle child born to Orville “O.W.” and Mayme Jane (Sitz) Andes, was born December 28, 1936, in Asher, Oklahoma.  She was raised in the Asher/Wanette community.  Ludy married Billy Jack Johnson, and together they had four children, Melinda, Sharon, Tawana and Brad.  After Billy passed, she married J.L “Buck” Brooks.  She loved her family, the church, the bounty of the Garden, and great conversations with her friends.  Ludy’s true passion has always been cooking, and the Lord.  As a lifelong member of the Asher Church of Christ, she has many church friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.  She was a good Christian woman.

Ludy is preceded in death by her parents, O.W and Mayme Andes; husband, Billy Jack Johnson; her brother, Bill; and her sister, Barbara.  Survivors include her brothers, Keith Andes, Caleb Andes; her children, Melinda Brothers, Sharon Rutsch, Tawana McClure, Brad Johnson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
