David Alan Gregory died February 5, 2024, at his home surround by loved ones, at the age of 68 years 8 months 24 days.  A celebration of life service is scheduled for a later date, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

David was born May 12, 1955, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Dwight Jackson and Mary Jane (Ward) Gregory.  He pursued many different career paths that took him on diverse routes, from radio broadcasting to geophysical work in the oil field, from cartography to being a joint owner of Purcell Cleaners. In all his endeavors, David treated his customers with the utmost respect, providing them not only with meticulous service but also with warmth and love.  An individual who truly embraced life's blessings with unbridled enthusiasm, David had an insatiable curiosity and a zest for exploration. Road trips were among his most beloved pursuits as they opened up avenues for rock climbing, camping amidst nature's splendor, hiking through breathtaking landscapes, backpacking into uncharted territories, and immersing himself in the wonders of sightseeing. Yosemite National Park, the front range of the Rockies, Wild Basin, Allenspark, Jackson Hole, Estes Park - these places held special places in his heart. However, above all, his home in Lexington was a sanctuary where he found solace and contentment.  David possessed an intellectual prowess that ventured into unexplored realms of thought. He fearlessly challenged conventional thinking, impelling others to reevaluate their perspectives and embrace diverse possibilities. A remarkable listener, he relished in learning from the experiences of those around him, enriching his own wisdom and fostering deep connections with others. The void left by his absence will be deeply felt by countless individuals fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

David is survived by his partner, Buddy M. Grider; his siblings, Monica J. Doing of Colorado, Daniel P. Gregory of Florida, Robert W. Gregory of Wyoming, Thomas J.
