Delbert was born on June 13, 1930, in the serene town of Grimes, Oklahoma, to proud parents Gilbert and Opal Fuchs. Delbert was raised amidst a bustling household of 18 siblings.  From a young age, Delbert's heart belonged to the land, and he enjoyed farming, working alongside his father across the fields of Grimes and Macomb. A man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed his time in the garden, tending to his crops and canning.  In 1944,  Delbert's was baptized in   Dempsey, Oklahoma. His  passion for studying the scriptures, spreading the gospel, and crafting insightful bible lessons knew no bounds. Everywhere he went, he shared God's word,  eager to share his simple faith with all who would listen.  In 1982, Delbert found lasting companionship with Polly "Jody" Ellis until her passing in 2000 after 18 years of devoted marriage. Family held a special place in his heart as evidenced by the photographs adorning his walls—a constant reminder of those he held dear.  His faith and unwavering commitment to worship remained a steadfast presence within every Church of Christ congregation he attended—a testament to his enduring devotion to his God.  In his youth, Delbert's dedication knew no bounds as he traversed from one Sunday service to another atop his horse.  Despite facing health challenges with resilience and grace, he steadfastly attended communal worship for as long as physically possible—his spirit undimmed by failing health. As twilight descended upon his days, Delbert shared his faith with his beloved sister Lola during his final moments.

Delbert is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Opal Fuchs; his wife, Jody Fuchs; his sister, Isa May Smith; his infant sister, Lula Marie Fuchs; his nieces, Barbara and Felicia; and his great granddaughter, Payton Chlon.  He is survived by his son, Russell Fuchs; his grandchildren, Mara Roles, Tommy Roles, and Ann Coffman; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Jeremy, Clara, Willie, Kasondra, Leia; his siblings, Aquilla, Olivia, Yvetta, Rocilla, Albert, Mary, Raymond, Eunice, Maretha, LaDon, Jesse, Lola, Ocie, Eldred, Mark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
