Donna Kay Holcombe died April 15, 2026, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years 11 months 30 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Dale Cemetery, in Dale, Oklahoma, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Donna was born April 16, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John Bicknell and Mildred Whaley. She was raised in the Choctaw area. On September 7, 1963, Donna united her life with Jessie “Butch” Holcombe in marriage, forging a bond filled with enduring love and companionship. Throughout her life, Donna dedicated herself to her work as a custodian, carrying out her duties with diligence and care. Donna found joy in simple pleasures that enriched her days. She delighted in discovering hidden treasures while antiquing and browsing garage sales, a reflection of her keen eye and appreciation for history. Her patient spirit was also reflected in her love for assembling jigsaw puzzles and creating intricate quilts, each piece crafted with thoughtful attention. A faithful attendee of the Sovereign Grace Bible Church in Harrah, Oklahoma whenever possible, Donna treasured the fellowship and heartfelt conversations shared within her church family. Her compassionate heart extended to the animals she lovingly cared for, finding happiness in nurturing their well-being. Donna’s life was a testament to quiet strength, kindness, and the beauty of everyday moments. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Donna is preceded in death by her father, John Bicknell; her mother, Mildred Whaley; her sister, Corinna Davis; her brother, Larry Blankenship; her daughter Delola Reid; her grandson, Brandon Holcombe; and her great granddaughter, Faith Cross. Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Burge and Helen Lake; her sons, Jessie Holcombe III and John Holcombe; her grandchildren, Fawn Acosta, Duane Lake Jr, John Paul Lake, Mickie Brown, Jeremy Reid, April Adams, Cody Passmore, Cache Passmore, Cole Cook, Jessica Miller and Charles Holcombe; her sister, Mary Helen Ryan; her numerous great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
