Doris Compton

Doris Jean (Idlett) Compton died October 17, 2018 at the age of 66 years 9 months 26 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, October 22, 2018 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Doris was born December 22, 1951 in Lexington, Oklahoma to W.T and Lela E. (Farrow) Idlett. She was raised and attended school in Lexington, Oklahoma. Doris was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in September 1972. She has lived in the Lexington, Norman, Noble and Wanette area all of her life. Doris met Randell Compton in her teenage years. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1973. She was a homemaker, but worked some out side of the home. Doris worked at Ruby’s 77 Café, she picked cotton, worked for Holiday Inn, Howard Johnsons and the Wanette Schools. She was over the Wanette FFA Mother’s Club for 9 years. Doris and Randell built patios, car ports and rooms together. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, cooking, nobody ever left her home hungry.  Doris loved decorating for every holiday, and spending time with her family and friends, playing games such as Farkle and Canasta.  She also enjoyed going to the Oak Ridge Boys concerts, which she saw at least 3 times.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, WT and Lela Idlett; husband of 42 years, Randell Compton; siblings, Albert Idlett, Billy Idlett, Ada Idlett Logue, Carrie Idlett Quinn, Orville Idlett, Alice Idlett Rhodes, Virginia Idlett Andrews, Loyd Idlett, Laverne Idlett Cooksey, Lola Idlett Schuller; and grandchild, Tori Compton. Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Compton, Bonnie Gregg and husband, Darrell; Tina Burden; grandchildren, Rebecca Compton and spouse, Billy Hinkle, Brooklyn Burden, Emily Gregg, Jacob Gregg; great grandson, Hank Hinkle; siblings, Mary Idlett Cooksey, Nita Idlett Parker, Andrew Idlett, Robert Idlett and wife, Sandra; and many other relatives and friends.
