Eddie Dee Blackwood entered Heaven’s gates on October 27, 2025, in Granbury, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Vamossa Cemetery in Konowa, Oklahoma, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Eddie was born on June 21, 1965, in Purcell, Oklahoma, the 5th child of 7 born to James M. and Della M. (McIntyre) Blackwood. He answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army Special Forces. While serving he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was honorably discharged. Eddie was an avid motorcycle rider and loved taking long rides to Sturgis, and anywhere else the bike would go. He was a member of the motorcycle group called BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) and clowns ministry. When he moved to Texas he started riding with the VFW in Granbury. Eddie was obsessed with noodling (hand-fishing) and would never pass a chance to teach one of his kids, grandkids, friends or just anyone who wanted to learn. He was deep in the faith of the Lord and was not shy to speak or teach the word to anyone.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, James Blackwood; his mother, Della McIntyre; his sister, Deanna Sue; his brother, Johnny; his stepfather, Bill; and his niece, Barbara. Survivors include his loving wife, Michelle Ragan; his children, Jason, Twyla, Andrew, Nick, Tyler, Felisha, Casey, Sandra, Jerry, Zach, and numerous accepted children; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his siblings, Jimmy Blackwood, Jerry (Linda) Blackwood, Matthew Blackwood, Billy Blackwood; and numerous other relatives and friends.
