Homer Lee Hill died August 25, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years 9 months 17 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel in Purcell. Interment will follow at Wanette Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Homer was born during an early November snowstorm November 8, 1936, to Albert and Fannie (Cronon) Hill in Trousdale, Oklahoma. He attended grade school at Jumper Elementary, then high school at Trousdale High School in Trousdale, Oklahoma. August 1959, Homer was inducted into the United States Army, proudly serving until his honorable discharged from active duty in August 1961. He then enjoyed the Army Reserves for 4 more years. Homer spent 15 years in Kansas City, Missouri before returning home to Oklahoma, where he spent over 40 years in the fresh produce marketing business, retiring at the age of 83.
Homer is preceded in death by his father, Albert in 1977; his mother, Fannie in 2006; his brother, Curtis in 1995; his nephew, Carter in 2014; and all of his grandparents, aunts and uncles. Homer is survived by his nephews, Curtis Hill Jr. and wife, Peggy of Purcell, Carl Hill of Oklahoma City, Clifford Hill and wife, Julie of Kansas; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also left to remember Homer, is his friend, Bill Patterson from Arkansas, who spent many days with Homer as the two had more enjoyable trips to all directions of the US, with plans pending for many more trips. Bill spent many hours and many miles driving from his home in Conway, Arkansas to be with Homer.
