Jackie Dale “Jack” Rains died October 9, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years 8 months 2 days. Graveside memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2025, at the New Jerusalem Cemetery in Cole, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Jack was born February 7, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bennie and Virginia (Burns) Rains. He was raised in Lexington, graduating from Lexington High School in 1967. His early years were marked by a dedication to his studies and a passion for basketball a sport he loved dearly. Despite receiving several scholarships, Jack chose to embark on his professional journey early, a testament to his strong work ethic. Jack's career as a truck driver spanned many years, during which he traversed over a million miles with an unwavering commitment to his craft. His attention to detail and love for mechanical work were hallmarks of his character; there wasn’t anything that Jack could not mend or enhance with his skilled hands. Beyond his professional achievements, Jack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman and cherished every moment spent in the presence of his beloved family. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he was truly remarkable, offering love, guidance, and unwavering support to his family. Jack’s legacy is filled with devotion and kindness, a life celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will continue to inspire all who remember him.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Virginia Rains; and his daughter, Jennifer Rains Willige. Survivors include his son, Josh Rains and wife, Jessie; his grandchildren, Addie Rains, Jared Ray and wife, Lunna, Jilliam Willige Eperson and fiancé, Kordell Craft; his great grandchildren, Violet Ray and Lorali Craft; his siblings, Bill Rains and John Rains; and numerous other relatives and friends.
