Janice Lynn Clark

April 19, 1954 — August 25, 2025

Blanchard

Janice Lynn Clark passed this life on August 25, 2025, in 71 years 4 months 6 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Blanchard. Interment will follow at the Washington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Janice was born April 19, 1954, in Dos Palos, California to Vernon Eldon and Berta Elaine (Smith) Larman. She spent her early years in California. Her favorite memories of California were being able to eat the fresh citrus grown on the farms where she was raised, as well as learning to make tortillas and cook Mexican food from her friend's moms. Her family moved to Oklahoma when she was 13 years old and lived in Moore Oklahoma, where she attended school, graduating in 1972. Immediately after graduation her family moved to Wayne, Oklahoma. Janice went to work for the Purcell hospital alongside her mother cooking in the cafeteria and working there for five years. In 1977, she met her husband, Travis, the week before Thanksgiving on Main Street in Purcell. They had a short-lived courtship and were married on May 27, 1978 in the backyard of their home in Purcell on South Canadian. Janice then went to work for TG&Y in Purcell and worked there for a year and a half where she never brought home a paycheck, but lots of fabric and notions. After two years in Purcell, she and Travis moved to Carnegie, Oklahoma, were he worked in oil fields. They then moved to Anadarko, and then Elk City. After a short stay, they moved closer to family and made their home in Blanchard, Oklahoma in January 1985. Janice did not think she would ever have children. She was finally blessed with Kenny, Kate Lynn and Tyler, all born in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Once all three kids were in school, she began volunteering at the elementary school and was eventually hired as a full-time employee, where she served as a librarian assistant for 23 years before retiring in 2024. Janice always said she loves the kids and tolerates the adults. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings and especially loved teaching the children. Janice was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren brought so much joy into her life, and she loved spending time with them. Janice was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Janice is preceded in death by her grandparents, Herschel and Faye Larman of Wanette, and Albertus and Mildred Smith of Wayne; her parents, Vernon and Elaine Larman of Wayne; and her granddaughter, Ida Jane Clark of Norman. Survivors include her husband, Travis of the home; her son, Tyler of the home; her son, Kenny and wife, Amy of Norman; and granddaughter, Olive; her daughter, Kate Lynn and husband, Matt of Oxford, Ohio; and granddaughter, Amelia; and grandson, Emerson; her sister, Karen and husband, Randy of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; her brother, Steve and wife, Diane of Wayne, Oklahoma; her sister, Patti of Moore, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
