Jimmy Lynn Deskin passed away on May 1, 2015 in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years 3 months 24 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor Rusty Canoy and Bro. Dale Kirkhuff officiating. Interment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Jim was born January 8, 1950 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Samuel and Ethel (Bennett) Deskin. He was raised in Lexington, graduating in 1968. On June 1, 1974, Jim married Donna Giroux in Lexington, where they made their home. Jim served as a crew chief for the City of Norman in the water maintenance division for over 30 years. Along with his Monday-Friday job, he always enjoyed his time going to livestock shows with his family business, Outback Labs Show Supply on the weekends. There, he was deemed the official "hug king" of the shows. Throughout his life he served in several different offices for the Cleveland County Junior Livestock organization and more than 10 years on the Cleveland County Fair Board. Jim was a member of the Lexington First Baptist Church.

After the city of Norman retired him, Jim spent his time making halters and loving his granddaughter, Delayney. Where most men’s retirement toy is a boat, Jim’s was his new 20 foot show supply trailer. He and Donna would take it all over Oklahoma, selling Outback Labs and making new friends. Overall, Jim’s claim to fame included 3 things: smiles, hugs, and making peanut brittle.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ethel Deskin; and brothers, Don Deskin and Bob Deskin. Survivors include his wife, Donna Deskin of the home; sons, Jason Deskin and wife, Ashley of Wayne, David Deskin and wife, Debra of Edmond; granddaughter, Delayney Jo Deskin; sisters, Jenny Ramsey and husband Jim of Noble, Carolyn Deutsch and husband, Melvin of Austin, Texas; mother-in-law, Doris Giroux; sister-in-law, Shirley Coulter and husband, Ron of Lexington; and many other relatives and friends.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Twice Blessed, 2732 Gaston Avenue, Dallas, TX 75226.
