     Keith Edward Clayton died peacefully December 2, 2023, in Tecumseh at the age of 81 years 10 months 8 days.  Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Keith was born on January 28, 1942, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Oscar Paul "Sonny" and Mayona (New) Clayton. He spent his formative years in South Oklahoma City, graduating from Southeast High School in 1960. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Keith furthered his education at Central State University and Conners State in Warner, Oklahoma.  On November 19, 1963, Keith entered into the United States Air Force. He served his country with great pride until being honorably discharged on May 1, 1967.  A true lover of nature and outdoor pursuits, Keith discovered his profound passion for fishing. He spent most of his time casting his line from a tube in the water, he found solace surrounded by the serenity of nature. In addition to fishing, Keith nurtured a fascination for all things old, except for his women.  Keith was fond of collecting old glass bottles, books, barbed wire and various vintage items. His skilled hands loved to work in his shop where he crafted bows from Bois d'Arc limbs. Keith expressed his artistic flair through various endeavors and relished spending time wrenching on cars. He found great pleasure in listening to outlaw country music while timeless western movies played across the screen.  Keith cherished his family deeply and brought boundless joy to those moments spent together. His love knew no bounds.

     Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Mayona Clayton; his brother, Larry Dale Clayton; and his grandson, Michael Seth Knipp.  Survivors include his son, Keith Clayton II and wife, Candice of Muskogee; his daughter, Kara Smith and husband, Chris of Tecumseh; his daughter, Jessi Parker and husband, Shawn of Purcell; his daughter, Karsyn Clayton; and his son, Jeb Clayton, both of the home; his 12 grandchildren; and his 3 great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
