Kelly Ranee Dickerson passed away peacefully May 26, 2026, in Purcell, after ongoing medical issues, at the age of 56 years 7 months 8 days. Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Kelly was born October 18, 1969, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Charles Allen and Barbara Ann (Calger) Townsend. Throughout her early years, she experienced a childhood marked by change, as the family moved from place to place before ultimately finding a home in Purcell. Kelly’s journey of growth and learning culminated in her graduation from Wayne High School in 1987. A devoted mother to four cherished children and a proud “MeMa” to four treasured grandchildren, Kelly’s love extended beyond her immediate family as she embraced her roles as a loving sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Her affection also included the companionship of her dear dog, Ziggy, who held a special place in her heart. Professionally, Kelly served as the front desk manager at the Holiday Inn Express in Purcell, where her radiant spirit and genuine hospitality left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Known for her free spirit, joyful nature, and a laugh that was truly contagious, Kelly brought light and joy into the lives of many. Her generous heart and loving nature will be profoundly missed, and her memory remains a vibrant testament to a life beautifully lived, full of love, laughter, and enduring connection.
Kelly is preceded in death by her father, Charles Townsend; her grandparents, Acie and Velma Calger; Bill Townsend and Dollie Smith; her nephew, Noah Forbes, and several beloved aunts, uncles and other family members. Survivors include her mother, Barbara Townsend; her children, Jade Jennings, Dillon Gardner, Sidney Vaughn, Charlie Gardner; her grandchildren, Brielle Gardner, Emma Vaughn, Braden Vaughn, Banks Gardner; her sister, Shelly Johnson; her nephew, Dawson Johnson; her niece, Stormee Forbes; her great niece, Aubrey Forbes; and many other relatives and friends.
