Landon Wayne Toomoth passed away April 26, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma, after a decline in health, at the age of 85 years. Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Landon was born December 24, 1940, in Omaha, Nebraska to Fredrick and Alma (Landon) Toomoth. He grew up in Neosho, Missouri until the family moved to southern California. Landon was a graduate of Rosemead High School and later became a supervisor at Southern California Gas Company. He also did a stint as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff. After retirement, Landon moved to Purcell where he resided on a small ranch where he lovingly tended to his horses, dogs, and cats. Landon wasn’t fond of Oklahoma weather, but he offset that by being taken in and involved in the community and having special friends that gathered for morning coffee at Ruby’s, discussing sports, politics, and horses. He was the kindest, most loving, and generous person to everyone he knew.
Landon is survived by wife of 65 years, Yvonne; his son Brian, and wife, Michele; and his beloved grandchildren, Waverly and Landon.
