Purcell

Larry Dale “Bo” Perry passed away August 11, 2025, in Purcell, at the age of 74 years 9 months 18 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Bo was born October 24, 1950, in Purcell, Oklahoma to Ernest and Bessie (Burns) Perry. He was raised in Purcell, graduating from Purcell High School in 1968. Demonstrating a commitment to personal growth, Bo furthered his education at Rose State College, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. With a profound sense of duty, he was inducted into the United States Army on March 25, 1970, serving with honor until his discharge on November 23, 1971. This period of service instilled in him a deep appreciation for his country and a spirit of camaraderie that would follow him throughout his life. In August of 1983, Bo married Sheila Perschbacher, together they welcomed a daughter, Kesha, and eventually parted as friends. On March 31, 1988, Bo found love once more, marrying Debra Schrader in Norman, Oklahoma and joining their two families by gaining a son, Charlie. Bo and Debra’s bond flourished over the years, culminating in a joyful celebration of 37 years together, a testament to their enduring partnership. Professionally, Bo thrived as a foreman for Asplundh, dedicating himself to his work until his retirement in 2002. His leisure time was filled with passions that made him truly happy—he reveled in the tranquility of fishing, nurtured the earth through gardening, enjoyed the classic western tv show "Gunsmoke," and occasionally found luck at the casinos. Yet, the greatest source of joy in Bo’s life was undoubtedly his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, with whom he cherished every moment spent. Bo leaves behind a legacy defined by love, friendship and devotion to family.

Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bessie Perry; his brothers, Ray Perry and Joe Perry; his sisters, Linda Shelton and Marilyn Perry. Survivors include his wife, Debra Perry; his son, Charlie Smith and wife, Carinne; his daughter, Kesha Montgomery and husband, Chuck; his grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Brilyn Smith, Crew Montgomery, Conner Smith, Kyler Montgomery; his siblings, Theda Deason, Carolyn Kennedy, Pat Perry and Mary Lou, Marie Thompson and Burl, Julie O’Neal, Janet O’Connor and Denny; his sister-in-law, Barbara Perry; and numerous other relatives and friends.
