Marvin Wayne Barnard died May 8, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years 11 months 11 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Marvin was born May 28, 1962, in Oklahoma City, OK to Jerry Wayne and Dovie (Morrison) Barnard. Raised in Norman, Oklahoma, he embraced life with an adventurous spirit and an unwavering love for the outdoors. Throughout his life, Marvin became well-versed in all aspects of construction, dedicating his career to this labor of love. On October 1, 1984, Marvin married his soulmate, Gail Tucker, in Norman. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories before settling their family in Purcell. Together they raised their sons and joyfully celebrated 24 wonderful years of marriage before Gail’s passing in 2008. Their bond was a testament to the strong love and companionship they shared. Marvin was an avid outdoorsman whose passions included riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, as well as camping and fishing. The summers were particularly special for him, as he delighted in swimming alongside his beloved wife. His fondness for classic cars was evident, savoring the memories tied to his cherished 1969 Roadrunner, which often served as a backdrop for countless stories shared with friends and family. Above all, Marvin's love for his family was profound. In his later years, his heart was wholly devoted to his grandchildren, whose laughter and joy became his guiding light. He embraced every moment spent with them, reveling in their company and creating a legacy of love. Marvin’s spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Marvin is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Barnard; his wife of 24 years, Gail Barnard; his sons, Darrell Barnard and Justin Barnard; and his sister-in-law, Vickie Barnard. Survivors include his mother, Dovie Barnard; his son, Jason Barnard and wife, Jessica; his son, Joshua Barnard and girlfriend, Savanna Prater; his numerous grandchildren; his brother, Gerald Barnard; his brother, Robert Barnard and wife, LaDonna; and numerous other relatives and friends.
