Mike was born December 7, 1954, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Euphra Lavell and Roma Lee (Roe) Stover. His early years were spent in Stratford, before his parents relocated the family in Arkansas, Texas and finally back to Oklahoma, where they found their home in Wanette. Mike proudly graduated from Wanette High School in 1973.  During his formative years, Mike displayed a passion for adventure, participating in activities such as bull riding and calf roping, as well as embracing the timeless traditions of coon and deer hunting. These experiences ignited a profound connection to the great outdoors that would define much of his life. His love for hunting evolved over the years, leading him to enjoy pig hunting and critter hunting with his cherished dog, Tess, by his side. On April 2, 1973, in Purcell, Oklahoma, Mike united in marriage with Vicky Jo Morphew, embarking on a 52-year journey filled with love and shared adventures. As an avid outdoorsman, he found immense joy in riding ATVs, honing his shooting skills, and diligently working his land. Yet, above all pursuits, it was his family that truly enriched his life. The time spent with his children and grandchildren brought him boundless joy, and he was always engaged in projects aimed at supporting and nurturing those he adored. Mike’s unwavering spirit, his devotion to family, and his love for the natural world will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
