Miguel Resendiz Olguin

     Miguel Resendiz Olguin died November 20, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years 2 months 13 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 6:00 PM, Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to Wadley’s Funeral Service. An additional Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Cristo Es Rey Church in Purcell, Oklahoma.

     Miguel was born on September 7, 1933, in Quitandeje, Tasquillo, Hidalgo, Mexico to Eugenio Resendiz and Epigmenia Olguin. He spent the majority of his life in Hidalgo, where he cultivated a life filled with family and connections. He married Florentina Chavez Resendiz, with whom he built a large family that would grow and thrive over the years. In their later years, seeking to be closer to their ever-expanding family, Miguel and Florentina relocated to Oklahoma. He was known for his happy, friendly demeanor, becoming a friend to anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Miguel’s passion for life was evident in his eagerness to share a laugh or a story, always ready to jump at the chance to bring a smile to a child’s face. In his younger years, he found joy in fishing and delighted in relaying the rich tapestries of his life experiences to those who would listen. Miguel’s enduring legacy will be felt through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by his kindness and warmth. He leaves behind a family united in their love for him, reverberating through generations. Miguel Resendiz Olguin will be remembered not only for the love he shared but also for the joy he spread wherever he went. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

     Miguel is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio Resendiz and Epigmenia Olguin; his daughter, Margarita Resendiz Chavez; and his brother, Pompeo Resendiz Olguin. Survivors include his wife, Florentina Chavez Resendiz; his children, Isabel Resendiz and her husband, Alberto Olguin, Francisco Resendiz and his wife, Efigenia Resendiz, Bonifacia Martinez and her husband, Ernesto Martinez, Fidencia Resendiz and her husband, Gregorio Moran, Lurdes Resendiz and her husband, Mario Resendiz, Macaria Resendiz and her husband, Aurelio Resendiz, Jacinta Olguin and her husband, Jorge Olguin, and Claudio Resendiz and his wife, Faviola Resendiz; his siblings, Cirilo Resendiz Olguin, Marcos Resendiz Olguin, and Agustina Resendiz Olguin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
