Paul Neal Gullion

     Paul Neal Gullion died June 30, 2025, as a resident at the Oklahoma Veteran’s Center in Clinton, Oklahoma at the age for 70 years 11 months 27 days. Rosary services are scheduled for 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. A Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Our Lady of Victory Church. Inurnment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Paul was born July 3, 1954, in Purcell, Oklahoma. The eighth of eight children born to Ethel Ray and Ella Cecilia (Dumas) Gullion. He grew to adulthood in Purcell, attending Our Lady of Victory Catholic school and was a proud Dragon of Purcell High School, graduating in 1973. Soon after graduating from High School Paul enlisted into the US Navy and after attending Basic Training and Basic Electricity and Electronics School at San Diego Naval Base, he received additional advanced electronics training at Treasure Island Naval Training Center near San Francisco, CA. When Paul left Treasure Island he was assigned for sea duty aboard the USS Edson (DD-946), and was honorably discharged in 1975. While aboard the Edson in the Gulf of Tonkin he participated in the evacuation of Vietnamese refugees during the final days of the Vietnam Republic. Following his discharge, Paul returned to his hometown of Purcell. In 1976 he enrolled into the Oklahoma State University School of Technology in Okmulgee, OK, graduating in 1978 as a Certified Industrial Draftsman. He then worked in various positions with Haliburton Services in Duncan, OK, Cities Service Gas & Oil, and Burford Corporation in Maysville, OK, and Epperson Publications in Dallas, TX as a Technical Illustrator. Throughout his life, Paul maintained a keen interest in fishing, and for a time maintained a large home aquarium. He enjoyed taking things apart and reassembling them, particularly computers and printers.

     Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ella Gullion; his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Constant, and Nancy Marie Gullion; his brother, James Ray Gullion; his sister-in-law, Barbara Gullion; his brothers-in-law, Wes Maxwell, Bob “Doody” Cragle and Tommy Miller. Survivors include his brothers, Harvey Dennis Gullion and wife, Paula, John Edgar Gullion; his sisters, Joanne Cecilia Cragle, Neva Mae Maxwell Lynch and husband, Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
