Penny Marie Gregory

May 10, 1967 — Jul 25, 2026

Blanchard

Penny Marie Gregory passed peacefully July 25, 2026, in Blanchard, Oklahoma at the age of 59. A celebration of life service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel in Purcell. Interment will follow at the Alex Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Born May 10, 1967, in Seattle, Washington, Penny was the beloved daughter of Bruce and Stella Louise (Taylor) Spicer. As the daughter of a military father, her childhood was spent traveling throughout the United States. Those experiences nurtured within her a remarkable adaptability, an adventurous spirit, and the warm, welcoming heart that would become her signature. Penny concluded her education in Alex, Oklahoma, around 1985, carrying with her a lifetime of memories and friendships from the many places she called home. It was in Oklahoma that Penny met the love of her life, Cecil “Skooter” Gregory. The two were married in Purcell, Oklahoma, and shared 28 beautiful years together until Skooter’s passing in 2013. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, friendship, and adventure. Penny often accompanied Skooter on his long-haul trucking journeys, cherishing every mile they traveled side by side and every quiet moment they shared along the way. Penny never met a stranger. Her infectious smile, generous heart, and unmistakable laugh had a way of making everyone feel like family. She possessed a rare gift for turning acquaintances into lifelong friends, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Above all else, Penny treasured her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved, especially her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. She delighted in preparing holiday meals that filled her home with warmth, laughter, and traditions that will continue to live on through generations. Whether gathered around her table or simply spending time together, Penny made every moment feel special. She also found great peace in the outdoors. An avid horse lover with a deep appreciation for nature, Penny felt most at home beneath an open sky, where her free spirit could roam as endlessly as the landscapes she loved. Penny’s life was a beautiful reflection of resilience, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the memories she created, and the family she loved so completely.

Penny is preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her mother, Stella Taylor; her beloved husband, Cecil “Skooter” Gregory; Bill Moore; her cherished daughter, Crystal Gregory; her brother-in-law, Doug “Dougie” Linge; and her aunt and uncle, Mildred and Lester Marsh.
