Robert "Bob" Oliver

May 24, 1943 — September 23, 2025

Norman, OK

Robert George Oliver, loving known as Bob, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ September 23, 2025, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 82 years 3 months 30 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Goldsby Church in Goldsby. Interment will be at a later date at the Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon, California.  Local arrangements entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Bob was born on May 24, 1943, in Herkimer, New York to Edward and Cyrilada (Davis) Oliver. He grew up in the heart of New York and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1961. Shortly after graduating high school in November of 1961 Bob began his service in the United States Army with dedication and honor until his discharge in September of 1964. Bob's commitment to service continued as he pursued higher education, earning his bachelor's degree in ministry from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1970. With his heart for ministry, he felt God's calling which led him to pastor several churches around the Midwest and West Coast. Later in life, God called Bob to serve as Chaplain for Loving Care Hospice in Oklahoma. He considered being a chaplain, where he shared his faith with compassion and devotion, to be one of his greatest callings. Bob possessed an extraordinary gift of making friends wherever he went, he never met a stranger. This is evidenced by how quickly he became close to his neighbors in his community where he resided in Norman, Oklahoma with his wife of 22 years, Jeanne. Bob is very much loved and will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and anyone who was blessed to know him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Cyrilada Oliver; and his brothers-in-law, John Meka and Steve Camelbeek. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Oliver; his three children: John Oliver and Jennifer of Waterloo, NE, Jason Oliver and Christine of Shingle Springs, CA, Julie Daubenspeck and Vince of Fort Myers, FL; his stepchildren, Adam Gibson and Becky of Norman, OK, Laura Stephens and Scotty of Blanchard, OK; his grandchildren, Mathew Oliver, David Oliver and Maddi, Andrew Oliver and Hailey, Adelene Havekost and Caleb, Adam Oliver, Benjamin Oliver, Emily Oliver, Mykal Daubenspeck and Miriam, Carter Daubenspeck and Dakota, Jacqueline Bradshaw and James, Aubrey Gibson, Abby Gibson, Mikala Laferney and Zaine, Zach Stephens and Kailen, Cole Stephens and Haley; his 25 great grandchildren; his siblings Joyce Pfeil and Jack, Nancy Meka, Sandy Camelbeek, Bruce Oliver and Winnie, Herbert Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
