Tony Keith Blevins

October 21, 1959 — November 23, 2023

Lexington, OK

Tony Keith Blevins died Thursday, November 23, 2023, after an extended illness, at the age of 64 years 1 month 2 days.  Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Born in New Castle, Indiana on October 21, 1959, Tony was the second of four children born to Keith and Judy (Polson) Blevins. He and his family resided in the Henry county area in Indiana throughout his youth, where he attended Blue River Valley High School. After graduating, Tony held various mechanical-based jobs in the community. A proud parent, he was very excited at the arrival of his first son, Keith. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Oklahoma and happily welcomed his second son, Zachariah, and a few years later, he was elated at the birth of his daughter, Shelby.  Once he was fully settled in Oklahoma, he lived in and around the rural areas between Norman and Shawnee. While his children were growing up, Tony spent his time working as a mechanical engineer at Rainbow Bakery in OKC. During that same time, he received his bachelor's in mechanical engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He was highly sought after for his engineering skills and his career took off, eventually taking him to many different countries, but he always loved Thailand the best and went back numerous times just to visit. Unfortunately, due to serious health issues, Tony had to stop working earlier than planned and retired.  Tony was known for his steadfastness, having lots of grit, being a real jokester, and an epic storyteller. He was a fierce friend and stood by the ones he loved and cared for, especially his mom and dad. Tony was always busy on his land and in his barn, no matter what area he lived in. He could usually be found messing with some sort of engine, whether it was a tractor, skid-steer, or pickup. Tony also enjoyed camping, flea markets, collecting various firearms and antiques, fishing, his animals (especially his dog Zip), watching hilariously bad movies, and picking on his loved ones, especially the children. He loved nothing more than to be a prankster with the young ones, it was truly a love language for him. But even with all the teasing and jesting, Tony loved the kids in his life and that was clearly evident as soon as he became a grandpa. His grandchildren were his most loved people and he showered them with time, attention, and spoiling them rotten every chance he got. In addition to all of this, it should be noted that one of his favorite pastimes was riding his bright green motorcycle while blasting “Despacito” as loud as he could, which his family lovingly referred to as his ‘peacocking.’ His family also crowned him the honorary world title of “Mr. Wanette” in 2007, which he continued to hold proudly for the rest of his life. Through his entire life, he was a hilarious cut-up but also a loving and soft spirit and the world won't be the same without him.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Roy Keith Blevins; his sister, Merri Letha Leonard; his brother, Roy “Brett” Blevins; and his aunt, Letha "EC" Blevins.  Survivors include his mother, Judy Blevins of Norman, OK; his sister, Robyn Goodwin and husband,  Bob of Norman, OK; his son, Zach Blevins and wife, Tamara of Chickasha, OK; his son,  Keith Lis and wife, Brandy of Cloverdale, IN; his daughter, Shelby Barnes and husband, Ryan of Lexington, OK; his grandchildren, Hope, Josie, and Logan Barnes of Lexington, OK, Makayla, Adrianne, and Kadence of Cloverdale, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who remember him as someone they could always count on.
