Jean Ulin

          Vella Jean Ulin died August 26, 2022, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years 11 days.  Funeral Service are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

          Jean was born August 15, 1939, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Leonard and Rosalee (Brown) Hawkins.  She was raised in Henryetta, Oklahoma, graduating from Henryetta High School in 1957. Jean married Gene Brewer and the union ended after a few years. Jean worked many years as a waitress on Shields Boulevard in Oklahoma City, where she met her husband “JD”. On November 5, 1964, Jean and Jearold “JD” Ulin were united in marriage in Del City, Oklahoma. They moved to Purcell in 1989 from Blanchard, Oklahoma. Jean then worked in Home Health Care and a Care Provider.  She enjoyed raising livestock, going to garage sales and flea markets.  As a young woman, Jean was fascinated by fast cars and loved road trips.  She was passionate about Christmas trees, enjoying them year-round.  She also loved shopping, especially for Christmas decorations.  Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

          Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Rosalee Hawkins; her sons, Lonnie Brewer, Jearold Ulin Jr., Timothy Ulin; her sisters, Edith and Betty; and her brothers, Billy, Charles and Jimmy.  Survivors include her husband of 57 years, JD Ulin of the home; her daughter, Deborah Ridge of Denton, Texas; her son, Randy Ulin of Blanchard, Oklahoma; her daughter Sherri Hickey of Norman, Oklahoma; her 13 grandchildren; her 12 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
