Walter Eugene Jagers passed from this life on January 4, 2026, at his home in Noble, Oklahoma surrounded by loved ones. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Faith Abundant Worship Center, 14401 E. Cedar Lane Road, Norman, OK, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Walter was born June 8, 1941, in Rayville, Louisiana to Eugene and Edna Christine (Windsor) Jagers. He served honorably in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1957 to 1962. In 1966, Walter met and married the love of his life, Linda Sue Bennett, spending 60 years together, raising their three children: Fredonna Lynn, Rodney Eugene and Lisa Michele. Throughout his life, Walter was a farm hand, an insulator and a mechanic, working hard to provide for his family. Walter enjoyed visiting with friends and family, fishing, listening to music, watching westerns, tinkering around and reading the Bible. Most of all, Walter loved talking about God and Jesus. Walter was a strong man of faith who always put God first in his life. He was a loyal member of Faith Abundant Worship Center for 22 years.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Edna Jagers; and his siblings, Sammie Mason, Ruby Taylor, Patricia Webb, Louise Meyers and Charles Michael Jagers. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Sue Jagers; his daughter, Fredonna Lynn Stephens; his son, Rodney Eugene Jagers; his daughter, Lisa Michele Lambrecht; his grandchildren, Joshua Rayburn, Justin Stephens, Lauren Todd-Gill, Robin Jagers-Paquette, Sabrina Thompson, Hayden Gardiner; his great grandchildren, Hollynn, Rhys, Maci, Meredith, Madalyn, Nova, Leland, Laken, Tyson, Maddox; and his siblings, Susie Keisweitter, Steve Jagers, Willie Jagers; and numerous other relatives and friends.
