Wanda Lee Huckabay

     Wanda Lee Huckabay died surrounded by her family, July 2, 2025, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years 11 months 19 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment is scheduled for 3:30 PM, Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Parkland Cemetery in Agra, Oklahoma, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Wanda was born July 14, 1933, in Caddo Gap, Arkansas, to Ulysses and Luda (McClain) Coughran. She was the eldest of 10 children and loved her siblings dearly. Wanda was raised in western Oklahoma, where she attended school and loved playing basketball. At age 23, Wanda moved to Oklahoma City, where she met the love of her life, John Huckabay. Their story began in a charming way. While Wanda was sweeping one day, John asked her how she would like to do that for him for the rest of her life. They were married on February 15, 1957. Wanda often shared how much she loved telling that story. After they were married, Wanda heard the faith and was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on July 8. Wanda’s greatest dream was to be a devoted mother and homemaker. God blessed her with four children, and many spiritual gifts. She served faithfully in her church, touching lives with kindness, faith, and a servant’s heart. Wanda was a woman of strength, who faced life’s trials with deep trust in God.

     Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Luda Coughran; her husband, John Huckabay; her daughter, Debra Kay; her son, Chester Wayne; her granddaughter, Tiffany Gale; her brothers, Melvin, Robert, and David Coughran; her sisters, Madeen McGuffin and Lorean White. Survivors include her son, Ron Templeton and spouse, David; her daughter Teresa Austin and spouse, Mark; her grandchildren, Shauna Cox and spouse, Keith, Larry Austin and spouse, Chelsea, Courtney Smith, Grace Austin; her great grandchildren, Adryan Cox, Xavier Cox, Lathyn Cox, Adera Austin, Jameson Austin, AvaJai Cox, Clara Austin, Killian Austin; her siblings, JW Coughran, James Coughran and spouse, Gina, Troy Coughran and spouse, Della, Christine Coughran; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
