William Kent Stockdale

     William K. (Bill) Stockdale passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 83 years 8 months 10 days. A private family burial was held recently at Willow View Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Bill was born September 11, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Cyrus A. and Virginia (MacArthur) Stockdale. He was raised in Lexington, attending Lexington Public Schools along with his three brothers, Mike, Daryl and Richard. Bill was inducted into the United States Army August 14, 1959, proudly serving until he was Honorably discharged on August 10, 1961.

     Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Virginia; his brothers, Alan “Mike” Stockdale, Daryl Stockdale, and Richard Stockdale; his nephew, Timothy J. Stockdale; and great nephew, Jacob T. Stockdale. Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Pauline Stockdale and Judy Stockdale; 9 loving nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; plus, a wonderful caring friend and care giver, Frank Ojile and family, along with his staff assistant.
